A Retreat for Masters and Monitors
A 2½ day residential for reflection, practice and renewal
This retreat is open to anyone who has trained as a Master or Senior Monitor of Enlightenment Intensives. It may be for you if you would like time and space to do any of the following:
Reflect on your journey as a member of staff: the insights, the challenges and the learning
Refresh your skills, and come from yourself more fully when connecting with others about Enlightenment Intensives
Reconnect with the work, if you've trained but haven't had many chances to put your skills into practice
Being on staff is one of the most rewarding things we do, and also one of the most demanding. Moments stay with us: an interaction with a participant we wish had gone differently, a challenge we rose to, something we did well but never stopped to acknowledge. And if it's been a while since you served, it's a chance to reconnect with your skills. This retreat offers time and space for all of this.
Reflect on your experience as a Master or Monitor. Use clearing dyads for the things you've struggled with, and take time to integrate what went well and what you've grown through. There will also be space to explore ethical vulnerabilities, criticalness, and learning from mistakes with self- and peer-compassion.
Practise the core drills to refresh and strengthen your skills. Much of the retreat is self-designed, so you can choose which drills to focus on, and devise specialist drills for yourself, drawing on your own experiences on staff. There will also be the opportunity to do lecture training dyads and answering questions about Intensives.
Renew your connection with the work, with space to recognise the depth of learning and growth that being on staff offers. Share insights and challenges, and build connections with the extended EI family.
In many ways, this is the event we'd have loved to attend ourselves. Our intention is that everyone who comes leaves with renewed energy, openness and confidence for taking this work out into the world.
Standalone or combined with EI
The retreat is two and a half days long and sits immediately after a three-day Intensive with a half-day of integration.
If both the EI and the Retreat are taken in combination, this makes a full week: seven days altogether.
You can take either the August EI or this Retreat as a stand-alone event. But we recommend combining them so that you carry the open state you enter during the Intensive into the group.
Gaining more experience as a participant adds to your resources and abilities as a staff member, so these events work particularly well together.
We also suspect that combining them may extend the possibility of direct experiences into the Retreat, as it does on the standard EI training.
Training and refresher training
If you've enjoyed being on staff at an Intensive and haven't yet trained, we'd encourage you to take a look at our Senior Monitors' Training. It's the natural first step, and this retreat will be there for you afterwards.
And if you'd like a deeper refresh of your training and understanding of Enlightenment Intensives as taught by Charles Berner, you can join our Senior Monitors' Training 2027 as a refresher participant, at a reduced price. It complements this retreat beautifully.

Price
The Retreat will cost £350 as a standalone event, or £250 if combined with the Intensive.
(The Enlightenment Intensive costs £650 full price, or £550 for early bird booking. So with early booking, you could combine the two for £800.)
