MASTERS’ TRAINING

2026

ABOUT THIS TRAINING

This Masters Training is open to all of those who have completed a Senior Monitors Training.

It is primarily for those ready to serve others by leading their own Enlightenment Intensives.

You might also be drawn to this training if you are:

  • Wanting to deepen your capacity to connect with others

  • Seeking to integrate and embody your own awakening

  • Drawn to cultivating mastery itself - the practice of presence and responsibility, clarity and skill - whether or not you go on to lead intensives

You may find that the training itself clarifies your personal call to master…

A genuine challenge… and great fun

Despite a schedule and ruleset more relaxed than an actual Intensive, people consistently find the training surprisingly tough and challenging.

You'll inevitably confront aspects of your own mind.

While the course isn't explicitly designed to work with this, there's ample space to process and communicate what needs to be addressed—including during the daily mini-intensives.

There is also a camaraderie built by the combination of intense learning with a whole lot of fun.

It may be this combination—learning, bonding, laughter, and intensive work—which has meant that it has been common for a significant proportion of participants to have direct experiences during these courses.

This course provides the knowledge, skills and experiential training to enable you to begin mastering Enlightenment Intensives. The only thing left to add will be your decision to do it.

STUDY

INDEPENDENT STUDY

What will you study?

The first significant difference between the Senior Monitors Training and the Masters Training is in the study material and requirements.

Core material:

  • Transmission of Truth: Masters Manual, Volume I, by Charles Berner + his final EI lectures (given in Volume II)

Optional:

  • Volume II of the Transmission of Truth

  • Several other relevant books and articles

These manuals were created from lectures given by Charles Berner during his final Masters Training. You get a detailed look at the mechanics behind all aspects of the Enlightenment Intensive.

They offer more than technical details - you get to hear Charles Berner's voice. There is a transmission to be had from immersing yourself in this material.

A website of dedicated learning material

We understand that for many people, reading and studying can be intimidating, particularly these days when more people struggle to read long-form writing and books.

While you can download and print the manuals, you can also study them chunk by chunk via our website. There will be web pages to support your independent study throughout the training period. Each links to one of the six online group sessions, where that material is later explored together.

Each page includes:

  • Study guide

  • Essential reading materal

  • Additional supplementary material (optional) to broaden your learning

  • Audio option to listen to the material

  • Study tasks

  • Supplementary tasks (optional) to deepen your engagement with the material

We estimate the essential study for each session takes approximately 1–2 hours.

If you choose to engage with the supplementary study tasks, this extends to around 3 hours.

All materials indicate approximate time requirements, allowing you to plan what works for you.

The website will be available by the end of January 2026.

INDIVIDUAL MENTORING

What is the purpose of mentoring?

The one-to-one mentoring enables us to work with you to individualise aspects of your study and training as needed.

We know that individuals will come to the Masters Training with varying levels of experience. One person may have already studied the manuals, or monitored on many intensives, while others may not yet have had the opportunity to do so.

We offer trainee Masters three online sessions:

First session: Scheduled once you've booked onto the training, giving us an opportunity to understand your experience and set you up with appropriate next steps.

Remaining two sessions: Can be scheduled flexibly - before or during the online component, or after the residential training.

ONLINE STUDY GROUPS

How do the group sessions work?

Six weekly Zoom meetings, ahead of the residential training, provide group learning and review:

  • Group review of selected topics from the study material, with small group breakout rooms to explore questions together.

  • Review of ethics for Masters.

  • Q&A on the relevant sections of the manual as well as general ongoing questions that arise.

  • Each participant will also give one five-minute talk across the six sessions, connecting something learned from the manuals to their own experience of Intensives - this begins your training in giving the lectures.

ASSESSMENTS

What are these?

Assessments are part of the learning process. They give structure to your learning, enable us to see where additional support may be needed, and are learning activities in and of themselves.

As with your Senior Monitors Training, your progress with assessments will be recorded on a check sheet to be completed to pass the course.

There are two assessments that can be completed prior to the residential course:

1: Written test on EI Masters Manual

You will have two options for when to take this test:

  • As an individual Zoom call at any time you feel ready, up until the residential training begins.

  • In person during the residential training.

We recommend aiming to complete the written test before the residential training.

Note on ethics assessment – If your Senior Monitors Training did not include a written test on ethics, you will need to complete this as an additional assessment before the residential training.

2: Oral presentation on the Enlightenment Technique

This presentation involves an individual Zoom call, approximately 30 minutes, including follow-on questions.

It can be taken at any time you feel ready after being accepted onto the course.

Again, you can also arrange to do this in-person during the residential training if necessary, but we strongly recommend you complete it ahead of the residential phase.

RESIDENTIAL TRAINING

How does the Masters Training build on the Senior Monitors Training?

BECOMING A MASTER

The residential training shares a common core with the Senior Monitors Training and includes drills, exercises, mini-intensives, and lecture/question sessions covering different aspects of the Intensive.

You'll revisit drills from the Senior Monitors course, but this isn't simply repetition.

Being a training partner in the drills is itself a key part of experiential learning, regardless of the specific content.

In a longer training than a weekend allows, your experience deepens:

  • Your ability to stay in contact with another person develops as the days go on

  • Becoming an excellent trainer of these drills strongly correlates with becoming an excellent senior monitor or master

You'll also experience:

  • New drills not included in the Senior Monitors course.

  • Individually tailored drills and tasks that emerge through our one-to-one meetings and your progress on the course.

  • Time to focus on the practicalities of organizing your first Intensive—promotion, ethics, and so on.

The residential training includes:

  • A 3-day Enlightenment Intensive for all trainees

  • Core training drills and interviewing participant skills

  • Personalised training drills and tasks

  • Crisis handling and ‘difficult participant’ drill

  • Practicum: mastering two mini-Intensives

  • Giving short lectures and 1-minute key points

  • Ethics in practice - making it personal

  • Practical preparation and building support for your first Enlightenment Intensive

  • Daily talks by us and Q&A sessions

  • Final day talk and Q&A with Lawrence Noyes (via Zoom)

  • Certificate upon completion

Why eight days?

The residential component of Master’s training varies in length depending on participant numbers and logistics. Recent examples have been 5 days or 10 days.

The calculation is actually based on how many mini-intensives each trainee must run. With 8 trainee Masters, we need 8 days for everyone to complete all requirements.

What's consistent worldwide - when trainings follow Charles Berner's design - is that every participant runs two mini-intensives and completes a core set of drills and assessments, regardless of the training's length.

ENLIGHTENMENT INTENSIVE

Why begin with a 3-day Enlightenment Intensive?

Traditionally in the UK, the Masters Training has been preceded by a two-week Enlightenment Intensive. On our Masters Training in 1992, 10 of the 13 participants had taken the two-week intensive which preceded it, and we witnessed firsthand the impact this has on training.

Participants who have just completed an intensive typically enter the training in a more open state - in good open contact with themselves, open to contact with others, and open to contact with truth. This openness creates two significant effects:

  • It supports the quality of contact needed in the drills and in mastering the mini-intensive.

  • It increases the potential for individuals to have direct experiences during the training.

And if direct experiences occur, they become valuable training opportunities for the whole group, allowing practice in opening to and identifying direct experiences in others.

OUR TEACHING APPROACH

What approach do we take?

As Enlightenment Intensives have spread globally, some significant core differences between approaches have emerged. For example, some barely teach the Enlightenment Technique. In others, the goal of union with Truth has been diminished or even dropped altogether.

Our intensives align closely with the goals and methods described in Charles Berner’s original EI Masters Manuals (Transmission of Truth, 1981) and subsequently by Lawrence Noyes.

We focus on guiding participants to seek a direct experience of Truth using the standard Enlightenment Technique within an intensive but supportive structure, including the safe formalities of the dyad.

More minor differences between EI approaches have emerged too. For example, end-of-day breathing exercises are rarely used in the UK. Neither of us have participated in or staffed an intensive which has used them since 1988. We won't be teaching them - not because we are against them, but because they haven't been part of our approach.

We trained originally with Jake and Eva Chapman here in the UK and worked closely with them across two decades. For this training we are also in close contact with Lawrence Noyes. Indeed, Lawrence will join us over Zoom near the end of the residential training fort a talk and Q&A session.

Alongside our own 30-plus years of experience as Masters and Senior Monitors, this course draws on that extensive training experience. We are grateful for their collaboration which has informed this course.

In choosing to join a training with us, you are, for the duration of the training, accepting the way that we teach it. What you do afterwards is up to you!

If you haven't met us, the best way to get a sense of how we work is to participate in one of our Enlightenment Intensives. You can also see our About Us page on our website, watch a video of a talk we have given1, or contact us for an exploratory Zoom conversation to discuss the training.
